Sexual Health Circus

Improving young people's sexual health and wellbeing through the engaging and interactive medium of circus

The Sexual Health Circus, a new ‘circus in education’ show. Working with a team of talented circus performers and a circus director, we have explored combining circus and theatre to develop an informative show engaging young people with Relationship and Sex Education (RSE). Post-show RSE lesson plans have been devised for teachers to further unpick the sexual health topics from the show.

The show is aimed at secondary school young people, many of whom would not engage with arts and culture - especially circus - introducing them to the art form as well.

We are currently developing the live show into an educational video. See our 'News' page for more details!

Sexual health circus in Bristol schools puts a positive spin on sex education

Don't just take our word for it!

It was phenomenal, I was gobsmacked! Every school in the country should have access to the Sexual Health Circus

Teacher

Already recommending to other teachers. We would 100% book again in the future.

Teacher

Really excellent concept, execution and balance between building up knowledge and entertainment. Students and staff were very impressed and appreciative.

Teacher

“Very informative - presented in a fun, new and interesting way. Covered topics eg. Gender identity that doesn’t really get covered at school”

Year 12/13 student

“It was informative and funny. It talked about subjects that are 'awkward' in a lighthearted way”

Year 10 student

“It was engaging and covered very important issues for our pupils e.g. consent and porn”

Teacher

“I like how they made it fun and silly instead of just sitting down in class”

Year 9 student

“Funny, impressive acts, made conversations about sex easier”

Year 12/13 student

"It is an uncomfortable topic for some teachers and students don’t want their own teachers to deliver so excellent idea and very well presented."

Teacher

“Good way to get information across without being awkward”

Year 12/13 student

Fantastic tricks and honest open funny dialogue. Energy, metaphor, humour, dealing with serious issues in a relaxed way”

Teacher

It is a very serious subject but it is done in an entertaining way
Student

It was very enjoyable, and not as awkward as I thought it would be 🙂

Student

I think it is extremely good for learning basics and the q and a at the end is a good way to look at some more topics in depth.

Student

It was engaging and educational all in one and explored all major subjects within sex ed

Student

It’s a unique way to teach it, a lot better than sitting in a classroom and having discussions with your teacher. Teaching it like this makes it more memorable and more comfortable.

Student

It was discussing serious topics but not in an overwhelming way, it was done with humour whilst not compromising the facts.

Student

Strange concept but completely works
